Canadian walk

Apeldoorn was liberated by Canadian troops on 17 April 1945. The Canadian Walk is a route that starts at the Nationaal Canadees Bevrijdingsmonument ‘De man met de twee hoeden’ (The Man With the Two Hats) at the Loolaan and ends in the town centre.

While following the route, walkers can use an app to listen to special, personal stories about the history of Apeldoorn during the Second World War. The route is marked by tiles depicting maple leaves.

The Canadian Walk was realised by Apeldoorn Marketing. More information about the launch of the route and the accompanying app can be found at www.apeldoornmarketing.nl.
